What is the District 16 Event Guide?
Just that, a collection of the year’s schedules, and announcements from all the clubs and promoters in AMA District 16. Events include those in Wisconsin, and Michigan’s UP, plus a few that take place in the surrounding area, such as Illinois or Minnesota. The guide comes out once a year, usually printing in January, right after the schedules are considered ready to publish. You’ll find all aspects of off-road racing, some really cool non-competitive rides called dual sports, as well as road rides put on by area clubs. Most of the events listed have amateur classes as well as semi-pro, and even professional rider classes featured. All welcome spectators, and are often great destinations for group motorcycle club rides, scout troops, and families just looking for a good day of entertainment.
Finding a Copy?
An electronic version is on this page! It is viewable on any computer, and most smart phones as well as electronic readers. If you are looking for a hard copy, most of the clubs and promoters have them, and even easier, many area motorsports dealerships were shipped copies in February. Best bet is to call and ask before you make the trip to make sure they still have them. Many will even ship you a copy free of charge with a regular purchase.
Advertising in the Event Guide
Dealer support is welcome. While we don’t allow prices or overly superlative wording, the guide is an excellent way to reach both those riders that are very involved already, as well as new fans and future riders. The annual issue usually deadlines in late December. For more information contact Cycle USA’s Chuck Melcher at chuck@cycleusa.com.
A note on the event guide… the information and schedules are as accurate as possible, but still subject to change. Always contact the promoter and confirm dates before making the trip.
